Description: Shelsley Walsh has been a motor sport venue for 100 years and, in spite of a recent scare, it is still going. This excellent book by Simon Taylor tells the history of this classic hill climb course from the dusty days of 1905 to the high tech machinery of 2005. The foreword is by Sir Stirling Moss, who first raced up Shelsley in 1948 and is patron of the Shelsley Trust, which raised the money for the 99-year lease that has kept Shelsley Walsh alive for another century. It is a great story and well told.
