Description: This novel book, shaped like a wheel, would make a great gift for the younger enthusiast and an interesting shelf ornament for any fan. It describes Formula One in three eras, the formative years, 1950-1980, rise in popularity, 1981-2000 and contemporary F1, 2001 to the present. There are profiles of the modern teams, great drivers and the new sensations. It is not a comprehensive history, but a fun book and has some great photographs of cars and drivers. Incidentally, the great Alberto Ascari was killed at Monza as the book tells us, but in a testing accident in a sports car and not in the Italian GP (page 14).
