This is a pictorial history of the heroic age of motor racing, from the 1890s to the end of the 1950s. It uses a huge number of great black & white photographs with extended captions in English, French and German with a few pages of text in the same languages to introduce each chapter. The chapters cover periods of time, the first up to 1905, then 1905 to World War I, the twenties and up to 1933, 1934 to World War II, the post-war revival and then the years of Ferrari, Fangio and Moss. Grand Prix and sports car racing are covered plus land speed record attempts, all with excellent action photographs. It is a book for the browser and will keep any enthusiast for classic motor sport entranced for hours.
