Description: Triumph is yet another old-established British marque that has disappeared from the world of new cars. In this Haynes Classic Makes Series book, Bill Piggott tells the story of Triumph, from early days of sewing machine imports and bicycle manufacture through the between the wars years when the marque was established as a car manufacturer to the post war models with which we are familiar. The razor-edge Renowns and Mayflowers, the Roadster, TR sports cars, Heralds, Spitfires, 2000s and 2500s and the 1300-Dolomite family are all described, but Piggott refuses to accept the Honda-under-licence Acclaim as a Triumph. The TR7 and TR8 were the last true Triumphs, according to this book, and few Triumph enthusiasts would disagree. All of them, however, will enjoy this book.
