Description: Built in 1938 and 1939 as an aircraft engine factory that produced the legendary Rolls-Royce Merlin engines, Crewe was converted to car production after World War II. This carefully researched book tells the story of the factory from 1938 to the move of Rolls-Royce to Goodwood under BMW ownership. Crewe is still producing cars, but it is no longer Rolls-Royce, but Bentley Motors on the name plates. It is a fascinating story, told by a man who followed his father into Rolls-Royce and has a true love of Rolls-Royce and knows what the firm meant to the community.
