Description: Karl Maybach`s father, Wilhelm, was a partner of Gottlieb Daimler and creator of the first Mercedes car. Karl dedicated his life to engineering excellence, producing engines for ships, trains, Zeppelins, tanks and trucks and, of course, the legendary Maybach cars. This book tells the story of this gifted but often overlooked designer and describes the evolution of his company, Maybach-Motorenbau. It concludes with the story of the company after Karl`s retirement leading to its merger with Daimler-Benz and, more recently, the rebirth of the Maybach marque. It is a great story and well told.
