Maserati Team Transporter 1957 1:18 CMC Diecast Model
The 1950s and 1960s were boom years for race car transporters, which are being re-discovered and restored today. The two similar-looking transporters of the Scuderia Ferrari and Maserati are among the most famous and technically most interesting transporters from that time.
They were mounted on Fiat 642 RN2 bus chassis, with body work designed by Bartoletti. The transporter could carry three race cars.
At first sight, those two transporters look alike except for paintwork and decals, but they differ considerably in detail. Back then, with grand prix races mainly confined to continental Europe, a transporter was the most practical way to haul race cars to the race tracks.
But transporters had other functions, too. In each of the transporters, a small but complete inspection bay was set up. It was also used to provide crew space and a sleeping berth during the hectic race weekends. The race car transporter became a second home for them.
This miniature of the 1957 Maserati race car transporter is truly spectacular, especially when it is loaded with three CMC Maserati models (available separately). It is unbelievably detailed.
The Maserati transporter replica is hand assembled from 3,115 precision parts and measures approximately 50 cm long. It is a true piece of art!
