The story of Chevrolet`s car based pickups begins in 1959 with the flamboyant El Camino, based on the sedan with its gullwing fins. After two years the El Camino disappeared to reappear as a Chevelle based model a few years later. The big ute stayed in the range until 1987 and this book tells the story of the Chevy sedan pickups from the point of view of the motoring writers of the time in a collection of contemporary magazine articles. Like the sedans they were based on, the utes came with basic equipment or optioned up with high performance engines. A great book for any ute or Chevrolet fan.
