Aussie style utes only really appeared iin the USA with the 1957 model Ford Ranchero. Chevrolet follwed suit with the El Camino in 1959 and 1960 before dropping the ute until it came back, based on the Chevelle, in 1964. There were El Caminos then until 1988. This book tells the story of the El Camino utes from 1959 to 1988. Powered by everything from basic 6-cylinder engines to 454 cubic inch big blocks, they were work horses and performance machines. It`s a fascinating story and a photographic feast for any Chevrolet fan.
