Comments: New front-engined Renault sedan and wagon introduced as a replacement for R8/R10. Gordini model added in 1970 (for Europe), automatic for 1974 model year. Australian 12 sales began in November 1970, with the model renamed "1.4" in November 1976 then Virage (quad round headlights) February 1978. Discontinued in 1980, but the model lived on in the 1990s built as a Dacia in Romania.
