Comments: Second generation Focus released in Europe in 2004 and launched in Australia June 2005. Shares its platform with the Mazda3 and Volvo S40/V50. Standard models built in South Africa for the Australian market, three door and smaller petrol versions not sold locally. XR5 Turbo 5-door hatchback introduced in April 2006 (known as the ST in other markets) with a 2.5 L turbocharged 5 cylinder engine and 6-speed manual transmission. TDCi turbodiesel model added to Aust range in July 2007. Revised "LT" Focus launched in Australia in October 2007, with the Coupe-Cabriolet from November 2007 and revised LT XR5 Turbo from June 2008. LTs are easily identified by having turn indicators set in the door mirrors. Revised "LV" models launched in Australia in April 2009, identified by roof aerial and more angular headlights. 300 high-performance Focus RS models were imported for sale in Australia in 2010. 3rd generation Focus released in Europe in 2011 and expected in Australia in August 2011.
