Description: This aftermarket US workshop manual is not as comprehensive as a factory manual, but has the advantages of being available and reasonably priced. It provides step by step descriptions of repair and maintenance procedures for the Subaru Legacy (sold as the Liberty in Australia), Outback and Forester models. It also includes the Outback-based Baja utility model built for the US market. Engines covered include the following:

2.5 L SOHC 16 valve 4 cylinder petrol
2.5 L DOHC 16 valve turbocharged 4 cylinder petrol

NB: Please note that this manual doesn`t cover the 2.0 L 4 cylinder or 3.0 L 6 cylinder engines offered in the Australian market.

Transmissions covered are 5-speed manual and 4- and 5-speed automatic. Only regular maintenance and adjustment procedures are described plus removal and replacement of the transmissions. It is recommended that overhaul and other major work be carried out by a specialist workshop.
