Description: In the UK, `utility bodied` vehicles were considered to be commercial vehicles and so attracted no purchase tax. That they also attracted a speed limit of 30 mph (50 km/h) for the finished vehicles did not seem to affect the popularity of wooden or wood-framed bodywork, which was applied to cars and commercials ranging from 8 hp economy models to stately Rolls-Royces. This excellent little book tells the story of the British woodie from the 1920s to the 1950s, from Rolls-Royce shooting brakes to the Morris Minor 1000 Traveller, the last of the breed.
