Description: This large format hardback by respected classic car writer Jon Pressnell is a cut above the usual in that it covers many classic sports cars often ignored by authors of similar books. Where else can you read about the Vale Special or find an accurate appraisal of the Dellow? His definition of a sports car, while flexible as it must be, almost insists on the cars being two-seater open cars with sporting performance. The flexibility allowed in the Bentleys, Vauxhall 30/98s and Sunbeams beloved of the sporting motorists of the 1930s, however it did not allow anything with a fixed roof. The result is a book full of cars that are recognisably sports cars with brief but informative descriptions in an easy to read style. It is a great read and a wonderful gift for the young or not so young enthusiast.
