Description: Walt Hansgen was a great racing driver and, by all accounts, a great sportsman. He first raced in his own Jaguar XK120 in 1951 and by 1956 was driving for Briggs Cunningham in what was America`s leading road racing team. He was an excellent development driver and it was while testing the Ford GT Mark II at Le Mans in 1966 that he had his fatal crash. The book tells Walt`s story, but it is also a history of postwar American road racing. Author Michael Argetsinger has been involved in the American racing scene from childhood and is ideally suited to write the biography of this great driver whom he knew personally. It is a great read and a must buy for any fan of classic motor racing.
