Description: Moto Guzzi started racing not long after it produced its first motorcycle in 1920. It has since built up a racing record that is the envy of other manufacturers, especially its fellow Italian marques, none of whichhas yet matched Guzzi`s overall record. From horizontal singles in the 1920s, the company developed through parallel twins, to an amazing variety of engine configurations, the most amazing being the superb 500 cc V8 of the mid-1950s. After leaving Grand Prix racing in 1957, Moto Guzzi soon returned to the track with variations on its classic transverse V-twin, which is still the mainstay of the Moto Guzzi line-up. This excellent racing history takes the reader from those early days through the firm`s time at the top of the Grand Prix ladder to its successes in production motorcycle racing. It is a unique story and well told in Mick Walker`s usual easy to read manner.
