Description: Aermacchi is a company descended from an aircraft company that got into motorcycles in the late 1940s. This book tells the story of the motorcycle company, its association with Harley-Davidson from 1960 and the resultant buy-out by Harley-Davidson in 1972. In 1978 Harley-Davidson sold the Aermacchi facilities in Varese to Cagiva, which still builds motorcycles on the production lines at Varese. Aermacchi singles are very competitive in Classic Racing events and this side of the story is also fully covered. It is an amzing story and well told in this well researched history.
