Description: In 1929 two young men from Sydney decided on a holiday with a difference! They chose to ride around Australia on a motorcycle, which had never been achieved before which was not surprising at the time! They bought a Harley Davidson, fitted a stout wooden box on the sidecar chassis to carry their gear and set out with just 60 pounds and neither a watch nor compass between them. After 7 weeks and 15,000 km they returned travel-stained and triumphant, not only achieveing their goal, but also breaking the record for motorised vehicles along the way.
