Description: In 1929 two young men from Sydney decided on a holiday with a difference! They chose to ride around Australia on a motorcycle, which had never been achieved before which was not surprising at the time! They bought a Harley Davidson, fitted a stout wooden box on the sidecar chassis to carry their gear and set out with just 60 pounds and neither a watch nor compass between them. After 7 weeks and 15,000 km they returned travel-stained and triumphant, not only achieveing their goal, but also breaking the record for motorised vehicles along the way. They endured great hardships and danger, but survived through guts and resourcefulness. Fascinating reading!
