Description: BMW motorcycles have been raced since the early days of the company. Among their successes are the first Senior TT on the Isle of Man by a non-British rider on a non-British bike (Georg Meier in 1939) and 19 sidecar World Championships in the 21 years 1954 to 1974. More recently, the boxer twin has been competitive in the Battle of the Twins series and the big 650 cc single-cylinder engine has been successful in Supermono racing. The whole story of triumph and disaster is told here in a brilliantly readable form by renowned motorcycle writer Mick Walker. Every BMW and motorcycle racing fan must have this book.
