Who We Are
The Pitstop Bookshop is a specialist motoring bookshop based in the Central Business District of Perth, capital of Western Australia. Opened in July 1995 at 48 King Street before moving across the street to 33 King Street in July 2000, The Pitstop Bookshop is the only dedicated motoring bookshop in Perth. On June 30, 2010 we closed the shop at 33 King Street and moved to 187 St Georges Terrace, Perth, larger premises in Perth's premier business street.
Occupying over 400 square metres, we stock over 7000 motoring book titles and 1000 motoring DVD and video titles. The Pitstop Bookshop also stocks or has access to workshop manuals for cars, motorbikes and some trucks as well as marine engines. Since mid-2008 we have been stocking an ever-increasing number of aviation books and DVDs. Stock lines are continually increasing with regular orders from US and UK suppliers, as well as Australian wholesalers.
What We Do
We have an established mail order clientele with customers in every state of Australia and overseas - in fact mail order is a large proportion of our business. A toll free phone number, 24 hour answering service and computerised stock control system ensures that all customer orders - whether by internet, mail, fax or phone - are handled with ease and efficiency.
Where We Are
The Pitstop Bookshop is located just a few doors east of Mill street at 187 St Georges Terrace, one of Perth's most historically interesting streets and the main commercial centre of the city. Our entrance is at the left hand end (eastern end) of the building - look for our green Pitstop sign above the door.
We are only a 10 minute walk south from the Perth Bus Station on Wellington Street and about 15 minutes from Perth Railway Station. There is limited short-term ticket street parking outside the shop except during peak hours, when St Georges Terrace is a clearway. There are several council and private off-street car parks close to the shop.

Management & Staff
Managed by owner Peter Lyster - classic car enthusiast and former rally co-driver - The Pitstop Bookshop is manned by friendly staff with expertise & interests in a variety of motoring fields.
