Description: Welcome to the 2011 Goodwood Revival DVD, and prepare yourself for some thrilling racing and fun entertainment from the 1940s, 50s and 60s. This exclusive two-disc DVD contains not only four hours of the finest historic motor racing in the world, but also revels in the sights and sounds from this golden sport. Disc One features the best that the 2011 Goodwood Revival had to offer, plus all of the exciting motorcycle moments, including a special homage to the great scrambler riders and racers of the day, with motocross and broadcasting legend Murray Walker reacquainting himself with some of the greatest names from the sport's heyday. Disc Two concentrates on the thrilling car races, and also contains unique footage and films of the special tributes staged at the 2011 Revival. Goodwood celebrated 100 years since the birth of the legendary Juan Manuel Fangio with a collection of his winning cars from 1939 to 1958, driven on laps of honour by the likes of Sir Stirling Moss and Sir Jackie Stewart, both of whom consider Fangio to have been the greatest driver in the history of motor racing. The 2011 Revival also paid tribute to the Spitfire on the 75th anniversary of its maiden flight. The sight of ten Spitfires in formation over the former Westhampnett wartime aerodrome will live long in the memories of all who saw it. On the ground, and in the air, the Spitfires attracted huge crowds and this DVD includes some dramatic film of the celebration of this historic aircraft. Ford of Britain chose the Revival as the stage on which to celebrate its centenary, the first UK-built Model T coming off the assembly line in Manchester in 1911. With more than 100 vehicles on parade, featuring Ford cars, vans and lorries across the decades, this was the biggest parade of vehicles ever assembled on the Goodwood circuit. The dramatic track action included the multi-million pound grid for the Royal Automobile Club TT Celebration race, with Ferrari 250 GTOs, Cobras and Aston Martins battling initially in the bright late summer sunshine, and ending in a torrential downpour, creating plenty of excitement on the slippery track, and making it one of our greatest races ever. The all Jaguar E-type Fordwater Trophy race, held exclusively for this iconic British sports car in its 50th anniversary year, had plenty of thrills and spills, as did the nail-biting Whitsun Trophy, St Mary's Trophy, and Chichester Cup. Enjoy the highlights of these, and the six other races, here with four hours of footage.
